    iTunes Songs

Apple announced recently that the standard 99c price per song on iTunes will be abolished and replaced by two different prices as of April 2009. The record labels will now be able to decide whether the retail price of each song shall be 69c or US$1,29.

At the same time iTunes plans to remove the copy-protection of the songs bought on iTunes so that consumers can now play the songs on mediaplayers other than Apple’s iTunes, iPods and iPhones. The conversion of old copy-protected songs into the new songs will also be offered for a small fee.

Btw. Steve Jobs is not deadly sick.  He recently squashed that rumor in a letter to the Apple Community.
