Can you imagine a world without books ? I’m talking about actual physical books that you can hold in your hands and flip through the pages. Future generations may never know the feeling of flipping the pages of their favourite books due to the new e-readers.
With e-readers you can store hundreds of your favourite books in one digital device (a concept similar to MP3 players but with books instead of music).
Samsung has just launched its first e-reader (the Samsung SNE-50K) in South Korea adding a new competitor to the popular Kindle by Amazon and the many Sony models.
So all the different options probably have you wondering which e-reader is for you?
Here is a list of basic specifications of the Samsung SNE-50k, the Kindle 2 and the Sony PRS-505/SC:
Samsung SNE-50K

- 600×800 pixel resolution
- 512 MB memory

- Retails for 339,000 Korean Won (approximately 165 pounds)
- Currently available in South Korea
Amazon Kindle 2
- 6 inch screen
- Weighs 10.2 ounces
- 600×800 pixel resolution
- 2GB memory
- 3G network
- Retails for 299USD (approximately 180 pounds)
- Currently available in the US
Sony PRS-505/SC
- 6 inch screen
- Weighs 9 ounces
- 170 pixels per inch
- Can hold around 160 books

Although all the e-readers have great advantages I personally prefer the Kindle 2 by Amazon! 2GB of memory is hard to pass up!

The sony version is already available in Europe and the UK. I however am awaiting the arrival of the Kindle 2 which i believe has not yet been announced. It is a really interesting concept but ultimately I love paper books!! The e-readers would be nice for travel though!

I personally think e-readers are stupid. Keep it old skool!
