In case you like Mangas then you might like those websites where you can read Mangas online: Jumpland and for the Germans among us TokyoPop.de. Can you recommend any other sites where we read Mangas online?

Can any of you draw Billy in Manga-style based on the picture below (billy with the terminator-eye). Just email us at contact @ letsbuyit.com.

Hidden Internet Jokes

Tuesday, July 1st, 2008

Spiegel has published a few examples of funny jokes that are hiding in programs and sites that we are using everyday without knowing it. I have quickly summarised the findings in a few lines:

  • Firefox: Checkout the address “about:robots” and this page will show you a new interesting site! The robots want to communicate with us humans!
  • Yahoo Yodeling: Some years ago there was dispute about that Yahoo Yodel, which is actually still hidden on the site. Go to the Yahoo.com site and click on the “!” in the Yahoo logo in the top-banner.
  • Amazon: Check out the hidden special thanks to David Risher, former Amazon employee, by clicking on an invisible image below the copyright note on the bottom of the category overview page.
  • Picasa: if you want to see funny teddy bears, open your picasa and type “ctrl+shift+y” at the same time and you will see teddy bears appear!
  • Google Reader: if you want to see ninja’s in your google reader type the famous konami code: “↑ ↑ ↓ ↓ ← → ← → B A” and ninjas will appear in your reader.
  • These hidden gags are quite funny. Do you know of any other ones?

Fashion Blogs – the independent fashion scene

    Thursday, February 21st, 2008

Fashion still stands for a significant part of the revenue for online retailers, who endeavour to develop and improve their ways of presenting and marketing their products online. Merchants and developers are getting very creative as you can see with the 3D retail space modulation of Kinset Technologies, the connection of billboards to the internet through QR codes or the currently developed Bluetooth Billboards by Ströer and many more.

Reviews and ratings, despite the latest developments at eBay, however are an increasingly important factor for increasing the online sales. These reviews however need to be independent and unbiased and written by real shoppers, e.g. Reevoos. The article “Stilbildung im Internet” or “Stylecreation in the Internet” published at the FAZ is a very interesting article describing how the true fashion scene is commenting and blogging about fashion independently: Fashion as seen on the streets and not sold by retailers seems to be the latest trend of independent fashion critics.

    Check out the most famous blogs about fashion: thesartorialist.blogspot.com, facehunter.blogspot.com, shoeblogs.com, styleclicker.net, glamcanyon.blogspot.com, gofugyourself.com, www.slow-wear.de.

    A new logo for LetsBuyIt?

    Wednesday, September 12th, 2007

Here we are! A new logo for LetsBuyIt! Not that easy..
To be honnest, we kind of think that our actual/old logo (see above) is not very modern and most of all does not match with the new idendity of LetsBuyIt.

We are then in the middle of a big ‘logo study’: what are the actual trends, which factors create a better recognition, which font, which colors, adapt the logo to the global chart or the global chart to a logo, etc!

We found that amazing video (play below) on the subject:

So, which ones do you remember now? On our side, we kind of all remembered the same logos! ;-)
