Yes, the time has come where you can now watch movies in 3D in the comfort of your own home!

I bet you never thought you would see the day where the magic of the 3D cinema would be available on your very own television at home.

Samsung have introduced a whole range of 3D gear including television, DVD player and even the funky 3D glasses!

Be the first to get your hands on this technology and be the envy of all your friends. Although, I suppose you could invite them all round for a fantastic 3D film night!

First you will need the 3D television. On letsbuyit.co.uk we have the Samsung 3D ready LED TV, this takes home cinema to a whole new level!

Then you have the special glasses to be able to view the new films in 3D. These ones which are compatible with all Samsung 3D televisions are even a bit more stylish than some you get at the cinema!

Finally, you will need something to play those special 3D DVDs on, so Samsung has produced a 3D ready Blu-Ray Disc player to finish off the set.

Although all this technology comes at a price at the moment, but don’t worry, the more popular it gets and the more companies that develop the technology the cheaper it gets!

We will keep you updated with all new technology that becomes available on letsbuyit.co.uk!

    Avatars, one for eveyone?

“A virtual representation of a person or a person’s interactions with others in a virtual environment, conveying a sense of someone’s presence (known as telepresence) by providing the location (position and orientation) and identity; examples include the graphical human figure model, the talking head, and the real-time reproduction of a three-dimesional human image”.

That is the exact definition of an avatar, the webs newest outlet for creating virtual beings!  Many of today’s most popular websites offer users the chance to create their own avatars from a pre-defined model.  From the basic model, users can change the avatar’s clothing, hair, or eyes.  The avatars can then be used throughout that website to represent the user.  Avatars can also be integrated into virtual communities such as Zwinky and Zwinktopia!

A lot of websites offering avatar creation have now made it possible for you to use your own customized avatars on personal homepages and eBay!

What I couldn’t find during my search was a site offering to create an avatar from my own picture… Any ideas? :-)

Second Life, the new way of advertising?

As promised, I continued my trip around Second Life for the past few days. I think I’m really getting addicted now – have bought a few stuffs, talked with people, flew and even lost my hairs!
Meanwhile, I have visited a lof of ‘companies islands’, like Adidas, IBM or Toyota. I’m very impressed by the huge inerest comanies are now having in owning their own islands in SecondLife’s virtual world. Launching of a new product (last Toyota, last Dior jewel collection, etc), creating a corporate island (IBM, Adidas, etc) or even trying to win a presidential election (candidates of lately french presidential election for example), advertising on Second Life seems to be the latest trend!

Dior’s island, Belladone, looks like a jewel iself!

For a small rent to the owners of Second Life, those brands can reach millions of people to make buzz around their products and islands.
Is it really efficient and are prices gonna raise for professional users? Lt’s see in the next few months..
