    Get Your Game On!

By Billy the Ant the 16 August 2010

In years gone by, video games had a target market of teenage boys, with messy rooms and bad attitudes. Luckily, video games have moved on a great deal in the last few years, not only with the graphics and technology used but also with the broad range of games on the market, guaranteeing there really is something for everyone.

For this week’s spotlight, I compiled the ultimate list of games on the market at the moment. I handpicked these games based on reviews, sales and most importantly what I thought of the game.

So today, I want to share with you my absolute favourite out of those that I found.

    Let me set the scene…

Alan Wake is a supernatural thriller novelist and has just finished an especially haunting novel. Him and his wife Alice, head away to a small town in Washington, Spring Falls, to relax and take a little holiday. When they arrive, there is an ominous feeling in the town. The small-town residents are charming but there is a feeling of unease that hangs in the air and many of the residents say, if you stay too long in Bright Falls it can start to play with your mind a little. With this sense of unease already beginning to set in on Alan, his wife Alice disappears. As he desperately searches for her, things start to deteriorate and the world of the supernatural that he created in his most recent novel starts to come to life immersing Alan in a world of evil which he may never be able to escape from.

    Gripping stuff eh!?

In this interactive game, your character is Alan Wake and you guide him through the small town of Spring Falls to look for his wife. Not only is the storyline gripping but the graphics are magnificent. Playing the game immerses you in the world and feels like you are right there due to the amazing 3D graphics and realistic soundtrack, with echo noises and running water sounds.

Overall, you can clearly see in this game, the attention to detail Microsoft has put into this game has really paid off and if you are to buy one game this year, make it Alan Wake!

    The MerchantPlace!

By Billy the Ant the 4 August 2010

    Aug

    Hello all!

This month, we have had some rather exciting news at Letsbuyit.com and I feel…it’s time to share it with you! I’ve been bursting with excitement for months and now I can finally break my silence…drum roll please…This month, Letsbuyit.com have finally released our Brand New and hugely exciting MerchantPlace! I know you’re probably thinking, Billy, what are you talking about?, but don’t panic! I’m going to explain everything and when i’m finished i’m sure you will be just as excited as I am!

    So what is the MerchantPlace?…

The MerchantPlace is an idea that had been in the pipeline for months and months which has finally, after a lot of hardwork from the technical team, been put into place! Essentially, the MerchantPlace is a platform for smaller businesses and merchants who want to have their products featured on the site without having to go through a costly affiliate platform!

So, what does that mean in English?…

When a shop wants to feature their products on a price comparison site such as ours they normally go through an affiliate platform. An affiliate platform is simply another company who handle all the product feeds of a certain shop and put them online. Whilst there are obviously advantages to going through an affiliate company, for many smaller businesses this option  is simply not feasible due to the expensive fees you are required to pay which are too big for small companies.

So what does the MerchantPlace mean for smaller shops?…

Letsbuyit.com have created a unique and potentially highly lucrative opportunity for smaller companies wishing to be featured on a price comparison site.  The MerchantPlace requires no costly registration fees, and no obligation for renewal after the first installment! Prices to be on the MerchantPlace are affordable for all kinds of small businesses and guarantee maximum exposure for minimum cost! Registration is done on a month-to-month basis and what’s more is that Letsbuyit.com is a completely non-biased site and therefore will not favour one merchant over another depending on how much they pay!

Fantastic, you say! You’re right, I say!

See below for the comprehensive list of prices:

    Pack 1 – Up to 1000 products – 20.00 EUR
    Pack 2 – Up to 10000 products – 40.00 EUR
    Pack 3 – Up to 100000 products – 100.00 EUR
Pack 4 – Unlimited amount of products – 200.00 EUR

Have a look at our press release for more information HERE.

If you’re interested in our MerchantPlace as a prospective subscriber, or you are just curious to see what it is that i’m actually talking about, click HERE to be taken directly to the MerchantPlace where you can learn more about it!

I hope you found that as interesting as I did and remember don’t hesitate if you have any questions or comments!

    Get Smart with your SmartPhone!

By Billy the Ant the 2 August 2010

    Aug

In recent years we have seen technology soar, providing us with all kinds of electronic devices that aid in the living of our day-to-day lives. None, in my opinion has been so influential as the mobile phone. Since the first mobile was released in the early 1970’s, mobile technology has advanced to an extreme. The once brick-like phones that had to be carried in brief cases are now so small and light that they can be worn on a belt, in your jeans pocket or in a dainty, evening clutch-bag with no bother and we at Letsbuyit.co.uk never fail to be impressed!

In the last year, we have seen this amazing technology progress even further. The introduction of social networking on the mobile phone has exploded! Now when you’re sat on the bus, at a friend’s house or pretending to send an ‘important email’, you can be tweeting, facebooking, myspacing, and all the other ings from your mobile! And with the introduction of android technology, whereby you can install apps on your phone, you really can take procrastination to the next level! We love it!

So, as a homage to the mobile Gods of Samsung, Motorola, Apple and many more we have put together 15 of the very BEST smartphones you can get your hands on to have you kitted out with technology that has literally just been invented! Pretty cool eh! And what’s more is that Letsbuyit.co.uk is an entirely impartial site meaning these products have been hand-picked on their merits to ensure you that you get the best brand rather than the brand who pays best!

We at Letsbuyit.co.uk LOVE the iPhone 4. Its technology is so advance that without trying to sound like I am completely pre-historic, it astounds me! However, for those of you who would rather not shell out 500 quid plus for the brand new iPhone 4 or who would just prefer not to buy into the craze, we have plenty of other options. With smartphones from the top phone companies beginning to rival the iPhone’s technology, no-one has to miss out!

Make sure you pay us a visit at Letsbuyit.co.uk for the BEST prices on the HOTTEST products! And don’t forget to get your SmartPhone before it goes HERE!

Feel free to comment on this blog to let us know what you think of the iPhone or any of our other products!? Do you like how far the technology has advanced or are you happier with a phone that simply calls and texts?

    Happy shopping!

    Allofme – Timeline

    Nov

After having met Addy Feuerstein at the DLD 08 Conference by Burda in Munich last January 2008, Allofme has now opened their ports to the beta users. Being a fan of timelines, we just had to try out this interesting media-aggregator for ourselves.

The BillyTimeline has been enriched with some few videos, photos and entries and it already looks interesting. Not all the uploading features are active yet however you can upload all some offline files or your data from Picasa, Flickr, YouTube & Twitter already. Check it out because it is an interesting way to demonstrate information on a horizontal chronological timeline in comparison to the top-to-bottom textual way. We are trying to visualise our developments a little and this timeline is an entertaining piece of work.
