    Best Day To Shop

By Billy the Ant the 4 December 2009

    Dec

It’s Official: 08.52 GMT December 10 is the Perfect Time to Shop (PTS) for Xmas

    PTS = SH + S + PD – FM – R – RM

Key to Formula: PTS = Perfect Time to Shop, SH = School Holidays, S = Sales, PD= Pay Day, FM = Full Moon, R= Rain and RM = Royal Mail

Retail boffins at Letsbuyit.co.uk have announced that 08.52 GMT on Thursday December 10 will be the perfect date and time to do our Christmas shopping this year. This news will be a welcome relief to UK consumers as they brace themselves for the festive season.

According to Letsbuyit.co.uk’s retail experts, consumers will be flush with cash on the 10th as the last pay packet of the year lands in bank accounts on November 30. With the pre-Christmas sales in full flow, shoppers can make their budget stretch even further, especially as this time last year many retailers were offering up to 25% off all items.

How To Shop Smart Online This Christmas:

    1. Run a price comparison search so you know which retailer is offering the cheapest prices
    2. Keep an eye out for retailers offering free delivery
    3. Get your family and friends to write a Christmas wish-list so you know what they want and can avoid wasting time
    4. Buy your presents from shops that offer free gift-wrap services so you don’t need to spend hours wrapping them at home
    5. Shop smart and use Letsbuyit.co.uk’s exclusive Price Tracker feature so you know you’re getting the item at its cheapest price
    6. Read product reviews before ordering and find out what other customers think about the item. Does it work well? Does it do what it’s supposed to do? And is it worth the money?
    7. Shop only at reputable websites
    8. Look out for money off codes to save even more cash

    Best and Worst Christmas Gifts

By Billy the Ant the 1 December 2009

    Dec

I’ve been thinking a lot about Christmas lately, specifically about Christmas gifts and what are the best and worst gifts of all time.

In my opinion some of the worst gifts would have to be:
    - Over-sized clothing (there’s nothing worse than discovering someone thinks you’re a bit plumper than you actually are)
    - Fruitcake (does anyone actually like it???)
    - Socks & underwear (if you feel comfortable enough to buy me underwear I would assume you know me well enough to choose a better gift).

Now for some of the best gifts:
    - iPod Touch (listen to music, connect to the internet and play games…GENIUS!!)
    - A nice wallet or bag (simple of course, going with something really trendy could get you into trouble)
    - Experiences (many companies, such as SmartBox, create great gift experiences where you can choose the theme and the recipient can choose the experience)
    - A netbook or laptop computer
    - Digital Cameras (especially the new water proof ones)
    - Video Games and Consoles

    Video Game Wish List!

By Billy the Ant the 18 November 2009

The last few months have featured some great additions to the world of video games which got me thinking of a few video games and consoles to put on my Christmas list.

Some of the top items on my list (in no particular order) are:
    - Playstation 3 Slim
    - Nintendo Wii Black Console
    - PSP Go
    - Nintendo DSi
    - Wii Fit Plus
    - DJ Hero

Granted I don’t expect to receive all of these but I’d be happy with any one of them!

I’m really curious about DJ Hero. I am a huge fan of Guitar Hero so I’d imagine DJ Hero would be right up my alley. I’ve heard mixed reviews but I want to try it out before I judge it.

I don’t know about you but I think this year we’ve seen many great new video game and console releases! I hope next year we won’t be disappointed…maybe a new xbox model??? ;-)

It’s that time of year when we can’t help but to feel the Christmas spirit all around us! Everywhere we go we are reminded Christmas is just around the corner!

Personally, Christmas time is my favourite time of the year and decorating my home is the first Christmas activity I partake in, so you can imagine how excited I get.

This week in the product spotlight I have decided to feature some of my favourite Christmas decorations! I have listed everything from fake trees (great because they don’t require much attention such as watering and cleaning up those pesky pine needles), wreaths, stockings, lights, ornaments, Christmas Crackers and more!

Be sure to order all Christmas products in advance to make sure you receive them in time for the holidays!
