October 1st (last Thursday) marked the release of the latest addition to the Sony PSP series, the PSP Go. This latest model has three very different distinguishing features:

    - Bluetooth technology: Unlike previous models, the PSP Go features Bluetooth technology allowing users to sync their Bluetooth headsets and PS3 controllers to the Go.
    - Appearance: The new PSP is 35% smaller and 16% lighter than its predecessor the PSP 3000. In order to accomplish this without compromising its features, Sony developed a new design. Now, the 3.7” TFT LCD screen slides up to reveal the controls, making it both aesthetically pleasing and practical.
    - No UMD slot: The PSP Go does not feature a UMD slot; therefore users must download games and content from Sony’s online store instead of buying UMD discs.

Sony Walkman celebrates it’s 30th Anniversary today July 1, 2009! The Walkman, first launched in 1979, was at it’s most popular before the iPod and MP3 players came along and stole the spotlight. But the Sony Walkman is still living strong today. Earlier this year, Sony announced the launching of the NWZ-X1000 Walkman for the summertime. It comes with a touchable 3 inch touchscreen display and a resolution of 432×240 Pixel for £229.99.

This walkman features Digital Noise Canceling, 13.5mm EX Headphones, Digital Amplifier “S-Master”, Digital Sound Enhancement Engine (DSEE), and Integrated Wifi (for those who can’t live without the internet). Yes, this walkman is different because it has the internet in it! You are no longer confined to only listening to music on a walkman. Its true that the Sony walkman may be lagging a bit behind the iPod, but it’s still worth it! Help keep it alive!

Sony internet connectivity for 90% of its products

Sony has publicly stated its aim to have 90-percent of its electronic products networked by 2010.  Sony says it hopes to make all your in-home Sony products inter-connected automatically or with the push of a button.  Of course the VAIO line will be a focus point for the development, but Sony’s Bravia HD TV will also be an interesting addition to the network, allowing consumers to stream video content from the Internet right on to their flat screen TV!  I can’t wait to see what else Sony comes up with!

    MySpace entering the online retail

According to Bloomberg MySpace wants to enter the sphere of online retail now after having already strung a nice deal with Vivendi SA’s Universal Music Group, Sony BMG Music Entertainment and Warner Music Group Corp. for selling music online in order to compensate for the dwindling numbers of members and decreasing advertising revenue! They are even considering their own online check-out system. Either this is a desperate try to turn the destiny around or a brilliant move. Let’s see what the Murdoch’s are coming up with.
